You just need to know how to go about it and once you learn how to do it you can easily wash your extensions when need be. The following easy steps show you how to wash hair extensions effectively.

Step 1: Brush Your Extensions

Brush your extensions

When washing your extensions you will need to start with the easy step of brushing your extensions. This first step ensures that the hair does not hold on to each other because this can be messy. When brushing, it is advisable to start from bottom up. A bottom-up motion helps to not only undo existing knots but also prevent you from plucking out the hair as you brush through tough knots.

A wide tooth comb or soft bristle comb is recommended for this step as it helps you to effortlessly brush through your hair extensions especially when you run into tough knots.

Step 2: Prepare Your Sink

Prepare your sink

In this step, you need to prepare the sink in which you will wash the extensions. Obviously, you need a clean sink to do this and so you will have to wash the sink in case it is dirty. You do not want any greasy stuff to hold on to your extensions while you wash them.

Having washed your sink you can then plug the drain and fill the sink with lukewarm water. The trick here is to make sure that you achieve the right water temperature for both your hands and the extensions. At this point, drop in a few drops of alcohol-free shampoo and stir the water to spread the shampoo evenly.

Step 3: Shampoo Each Weft

In this step, you get to shampoo each weft of your hair extensions. We recommend that you arrange and group them in a way that allows you to shampoo each weft easily. This way you divide and group the entire cheap brazilian hair weave extensions set into manageable bundles to make your work easier. The washing part will require you to hold each bundle by the wefts and then immerse them in the shampooed water.

Here you must ensure that you have washed each weft thoroughly. You also need to gently apply the shampoo on every part of the hair. Avoid simply dipping the entire set into the water and then wash them as if you’re washing clothes. You can repeat this process for each bundle that you have.

After washing spread each clean weft on a clean dry towel which allows the extensions to drip off excess water.

Step 4: Condition Your Extensions

As the word goes, conditioning your extensions is an important step that allows your extensions to maintain a fresh and sparkling look. You cannot afford to skip this step or do it improperly. For your extensions to look good on you, they must be soft, nourished and moisturized through conditioning.

We recommend that you generously apply the conditioner on each waft making sure to use a top to bottom motion you massage the conditioner into the hair. Once you’re done with every waft, bundle them together and give them a minimum of one hour to soak in the conditioner. It’s okay to soak the extensions overnight. Just ensure that you place them in a plastic bag to lock in moisture.

Once you’re done with soaking, go ahead and rinse the extensions taking care to leave no conditioner holding on to the hair. Once again, place the rinsed extensions on a dry towel to drain excess water.

Step 5: Let The Extensions Air Dry

It is highly recommended that you let the extensions to air dry. Please note that this does not necessarily mean that you place the extension under direct sunlight, as this will suck up all the moisture from the hair. Just place the brazilian hair weaves extensions in an open space for them to dry.

Once they are dry, layout each weft of a clean flat surface and apply some oil rubbing on each weft for a fine smooth texture.

Step 6: Comb Each Weft

At this point, you can consider your extensions as clean and done. All you need to do is to comb each weft to eliminate any tangling. Be sure to be gentle as the soft silky hair can break or pull off easily if you apply too much force.
